Brian was raised in Okemos, MI. Brian graduated cum laude from Michigan State University, with a Multi Disciplinary Pre-Law Bachelor's Degree in 1994 and graduated cum laude from the Detroit College of Law with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1999.
In 1999, Brian accepted a clerkship position with the Honorable Philip D. Schaefer in Kalamazoo, MI which bestowed invaluable insight into the civil and criminal court systems both inside the courtroom as well as behind the scenes.
In 2001, Brian accepted a position with Hess, Hess & Kmetz, PC, which was the original West Michigan law firm to form an affiliation with the American Divorce Association for Men (ADAM). While with Hess, Hess & Kmetz, PC, Brian's practice primarily focused on fighting for men's rights in Family Law matters as well as Criminal Law and Civil Litigation Issues.
Through the emergence of his own law firm, Brian and his partner, Ivan Shaw, have continued to carry the ADAM torch and have established Gordon & Shaw, PLC as the only West Michigan ADAM affiliate dedicated to protecting men's rights.
Brian is a strong advocate that continues to apply his knowledge and experience in pursuit of justice for men in Family Law. Brian has represented male clients all over Michigan including the following counties: Kent, Ionia, Barry, Montcalm, Mecosta, Cass, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Ottawa, Allegan, Kalamazoo, Calhoun, Berrien, St. Joseph and Van Buren.
